Hello!

Hey everyone, not as if anyone reads this anymore, but been real busy sorting out house stuff and such!
So hopefully everything will be organised in the next month or so and I can start posting again.

SO, whats new?

Silvia is gone :\ But I don’t miss it too much.
Chaser is getting a complete over haul.
Several things on the agenda including all new suspension parts (hopefully on the way soon), exhaust, bodykit, wheels and various other special things.
IT will be a completely new car!

So maybe I’ve still got some followers and I’ll see you soon I guess!

Perhaps I need to get another car in the time being to update the blog with hmmmmmmmmmmmmm….

And heres a picture of possible things to come? Maybe?

PS. SORRY to the guy who left a message on the blog while he was in Wellington wanting to meet up and check out the Chaser! The next time you’re here, let me know!

Well, took the Chaser out the other day to watch a dyno day, and it popped up on the STM blog:

A bit of DIY…

Hey guys, no one probably follows this blog anymore because I’m useless at updating…
I haven’t done much in the past few months as I’m waiting for my Silvia to sell so I can buy a few more things for the Chaser.
This hasn’t stopped me from ordering a couple goodies, which are on their way as I speak!
Anyway, I removed the ETCS flap from the throttle body. For those who don’t know, this flap controls the traction control etc. Even with the TRC off, it still interferes and stops you from having a ‘good time’.
I’ve had the flap mechanism disconnected since I got the car and it’s done well, but I decided to complete remove the flap and leave the mechanism connected so no error lights would come up (yes I’m lazy to remove the flashing light bulbs in the dash)
That way, I’ll just push the TRC off button when I go drifting or whatever.
Pics below:

So there it is. Just a word of advice for the people who attempt to do this. Drill the screws out of the flap COMPLETELY. The flap isn’t attached by the screws, but the screws stop the flap from sliding out. You have to pull the flap out sideways.
Also remember to clean ya throttle body out thoroughly afterwards!

And here it is…

So as you previously saw, there was no TRD LSD inside my diff housing. But there will be soon!

So hopefully I have this fitted in the next few days. Still require some new stub axles but apparently my factory ones can be modified.

Sigh!

Well, got the LSD out and from my knowledge it looks more like a Torsen rather than a TRD 2-way.
Hmm :(

Just a lil’ somethin’ somethin’…

More Cusco stuff hah. Just a gearknob and drift button this time.
EDIT: Blah, the drift button doesn’t fit!

This week the LSD will be coming out to get rebuilt. Pics to come hopefully!

Nothing new for a while…

New decade, new phone

I never thought I’d see the day, perhaps slightly enigmatic being someone who loves his ’80s gadgets, but I finally updated myself into the 21st century and joined the legions of people now rocking smartphones, and a flash HTC one at that. It’s not immediately apparent from the photo but being the Desire Z it has a fold out QWERTY keyboard for sweet thumb typing action, ‘pure’ touchscreens creep me out!

HTC Desire Z

Being able to use interwebs-related stuff like twitter without having to open my laptop is proving more convenient than I initially thought, but I don’t see myself abandoning the PC anytime soon. Amusingly the phone app that’s gotten the most usage out of me so far has been the ebook reader (Aldiko). It’s even on my home screen for quick access, hah.

Better not lose/break/pour water on this one I think.
